Festival of Hope - Cheshire

Set Design | Shop Window | Community Engagement

Commissioned by the Festival of Hope in 2020 and developed in collaboration their Young Producers. Creating a piece of work reflecting the communities experiences through the various covid lockdowns.

A piece to bring a smile to the high street as things were beginning to open back up and reflecting the deeper connections of the community through technology felt by the young people despite the lack of ability to physically connect.

A secondary window was used to create a gallery inspired by the vast amount of artworks created in Winsford throughout lockdown and the inordinate amount of cardboard from online deliveries!

“This cardboard gallery is a space that will showcase works by local people and will also draw on our own personal inspirations from our time spent at home in Winsford; making the cardboard gallery into an incredible artwork in itself.”

The work was both informed and disrupted by several covid lockdowns. The terrible lack of documentation from myside was due to losing my phone before backing up my images after being chased by cows. Yes really, a true the dog ate my homework situation.

A step by step set of instructions to encourage folks to make their own mini sculpture to represent and reflect on the way in which technology played a part in their own lockdowns and helped them to feel connected to community.
