Beck&Hersey | Bread&Butter
Trade Show Stand Design | Props and Set | Concept Develpment
Tradeshow stand for Manchester fashion brand Beck&Hersey for their 2012 tradeshow stand at Bread&Butter in Berlin’s Tempelhof.
The concept revolved around the fashion houses collection which featured garments with illustrated designs which were riffs on iconic household brands.
The set was designed as a kitchen with areas to place products within the features of the cardboard kitchen. The space was enclosed by a large curved wall featuring shelving space the length of the inside to provide space for the garments to sit folded or hung and designed with the strength to be used as seating to encourage visitors to sit and enjoy the space a while.
The outside of the curve finished to look like a garden fence with contrasting bold text to allow their logo to stand out at a distance in busy hall. One portion featured a window to allow increased access to the view within as visitors passed by.
This is a really rather old commission, in fact it was my first and whilst I could do it so much better now (both execution and documentation!) it was a fun one, and given the experience and skills developed since I would relish the opportunity for a commission in a similar vein.
The stand was designed and made in Manchester, UK with the vast majority designed to collapse and be packed flat in order to facilitate transport. It was constructed and finished onsite in the days leading to opening.
Helloooo trade show folks.
Imagine this with 15 years more experience on it.
“Beck and Hersey’s stand was hands down the best we saw. Every last detail was thought about.”- Fay Cowan, EDITD
