'All in the Wrist' Exhibition
The 'All in the Wrist' exhibition brought together a whole heap of artists with a mix of styles from illustration to sculpture and graffiti. Different techniques all brought together by one simple medium; cardboard. Ace!
I used the opportunity to make full size replicas of old fashioned fairground popcorn and candyfloss carts. They both had working wheels so they could be wheeled around the space (although few people dared). The popcorn cart also had a fan hidden in the base causing the polystyrene chip 'popcorn' to be in constant movement as though popping; it's the little things :)
The exhibition was held in the Bench Self Made Gallery in Manchester's Northern Quarter.
Thanks for the invite Mooty, thanks to Dom Varden for the photos from the private view and Bench for putting together a video capturing the only evidence of my popping popcorn :)
I also brought a couple of speakers and an amp to the exhibition which lent themselves extremely well to dressing the decks on opening night, later showing their faces again at Bench as a backdrop to the stores 'Lunch Time Live' sessions.
